
History is crowded
with names that
fill the mouths of men.
They are spoken
as though tomorrow
could never forget them.
Yet the wind
has a way of
editing importance.
Crowns tarnish.
Stone yields.
Applause
dies young.
When time
has finished
keeping records,
one Name
will still need
no introduction.
And when
history itself
falls silent,
heaven
will still be
speaking
Jesus.
