Walking By Faith

Original Scripture-inspired reflections on trusting God one step at a time.

  1. Faith is not believing that God will explain everything. It is trusting Him enough to obey before He does.
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” — 2 Corinthians 5:7 (KJV)
  2. God seldom shines a floodlight on the whole road. More often, He places just enough light on the next step and asks us to trust Him for the one after that.
“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” — Psalm 119:105 (KJV)
  3. Waiting is not wasted time when it is spent in God’s hands. Some of His greatest work is done while we think nothing is happening.
“Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him…” — Psalm 37:7 (KJV)
  4. Faith grows strongest where certainty ends. If we could see every answer ahead of time, trust would no longer be trust.
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” — Hebrews 11:1 (KJV)
  5. The safest place is not always the easiest path. Sometimes obedience leads through deep water before it reaches dry ground.
“When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee…” — Isaiah 43:2 (KJV)
  6. Peace does not come from knowing what tomorrow holds. It comes from knowing who already stands in tomorrow waiting for you.
“Let not your heart be troubled… ye believe in God, believe also in me.” — John 14:1 (KJV)
  7. Faith is not the absence of questions. It is the quiet confidence that, whatever the answer, God will still be faithful when you arrive there.
“Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:24 (KJV)
