Inspired by Psalm 103:5 “Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”
God satisfies my mouth with good things—
which explains a lot, honestly.
Because I’ll skip lunch,
then act surprised
when my patience evaporates
like a puddle in July.
Turns out hunger affects perspective.
But God?
He feeds more than schedules allow for.
Truth when I’m empty.
Grace when I’m worn thin.
And occasionally—
something sweet I didn’t ask for
but definitely needed.
Then comes the renewal part.
Like the eagle’s.
Which sounds majestic
until you remember molting means
looking awkward for a while
and wondering if you’ll ever feel strong again.
Feathers everywhere.
Dignity questionable.
Faith stretched thin but still hanging on.
And yet—
somehow—
flight returns.
Not because I tried harder,
but because God knew exactly
what to remove
and what to replace.
So here I am—
not younger,
just renewed.
Still learning.
Still shedding.
Still rising.
