Held in His Eyes

Inspired by Matthew 10:29-31 “Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.”

There is a silence that only Heaven hears—
the flutter of a sparrow’s wing,
the soft gasp of air
as it dips toward the earth.
No passerby will notice.
No ledger of men will record its fall.
But the Father knows.

He is there
in the invisible threads
that keep the small bird from vanishing,
weaving His care
through the most ordinary moment
until it becomes holy.

And if He will not let
the faintest feather fall without notice,
what of me?
Me—with a heart that stumbles and soars in the same breath,
with nights that ache
and mornings that open wide with longing.
Every tear I have wept
has been gathered into His remembrance.
Every fear I have carried
has been measured against His endless love—
and found too small to stand.

O my soul,
shall I not rise upon this truth?
Shall I not stand in the boldness of being known?
For the God who sketches galaxies into darkness
counts the hairs upon my head,
knows the fault lines of my heart,
and calls me more precious
than many sparrows.

I am not lost.
I am not overlooked.
I am held—
in the eyes of the One
who has never blinked
at my worth.
