Search me, O Lord—
not as one who skims the shore,
but as a Diver plunges into the dark,
where hidden reefs cut unseen,
and the currents pull strong against surrender.
Break open the sealed rooms
where I have stored my unspoken fears,
my carefully wrapped sins,
and the idols I name by gentler names.
Let Thy light pour in,
unflinching,
until every corner bows to Thee.
Try me—
not to destroy, but to refine;
let Thy fire pass over my thoughts
as gold in the crucible,
until every false vein melts away
and only what is true remains.
If my steps have wandered
onto a road that curves toward death,
seize me with the grip of mercy
and turn me, even through tears,
to the narrow way where the footprints of the Lamb
shine with eternal purpose.
Lead me, O God—
not just past the snares,
but into the heights
where the air is thin with holiness,
and the path runs bright
into the heart of the Way Everlasting.
